welcome the arrival of spring
In the State of Maryland, at the confluence of the Anacostia and Potomac Rivers, sits our nation’s capital, Washington, D.C. The city of neoclassic marble buildings, offset by green parks, fountains and statuary, is deserving of being called the “city beautiful.” We have planned an exciting non-stop visit to the highlights of the D.C. area during the Cherry Blossom Festival. All the historic monuments will be framed in the vivid white and pink blossoms from more than 6,000 Japanese cherry trees along the Tidal Basin. The Cherry Blossom Festival, held since 1935, traditionally marks the arrival of spring to our capital.
