Things to Do in Orlando

Orlando is a major city in central Florida where the tourism industry is the mainstay of their economy. A popular vacation destination, there are so many things to do in Orlando; it would take a lifetime to experience them all.

Theme parks are of course a favorite activity for visitors to Orlando and with over 50 theme parks, you can select your favorite to explore in-depth, or visit only your favorites. Not surprisingly, Orlando has the most theme parks as any city on the globe!

Walt Disney World theme parks are the iconic attraction of Orlando. With four theme parks and two water parks, Disney is a tourist attraction force to be reckoned with. Tourism in Orlando became as big as it is because of Walt Disney’s decision to locate his park here in 1965. Magic Kingdom is the Disney park that includes the most rides; Animal Kingdom contains over a thousand animals; and the water parks boast the best waterslides in the world.

Universal Studios is another theme park in Orlando to experience as it is an actual production lot with movie-based rides and shows that take you behind the scenes of your favorite television shows and movies. Universal Orlando Resort

SeaWorld Adventure Parks is home to world famous killer whale shows and theme park rides that have thrilled visitors since 1973.

Dinner theatre of Orlando, Florida includes Pirate’s Dinner Adventure where you partake of dinner amid a pirate ship. Arabian Nights is a dining experience while enjoying Arabian horses do various stunts and tricks. Then, there is Medieval Times, perhaps the most engrossing experience of all in the arena of dinner theatre, as patrons enjoy a four-course feast while watching a jousting competition.

Other area attractions include Gatorland, which claims to be the Alligator Capital of the World. Discovery Cove offers the opportunity for anyone over the age of six to swim with the dolphins, feed exotic birds, and snorkel with tropical fish. Indoor skydiving at IFLY allows you to experience the feeling of skydiving without need of planes or parachutes. Fantasy Surf in local Kissimmee, Florida, makes it possible to surf in a safe environment. Finally, amazing golf courses such as Hawk’s Landing and Grand Cypress Resort offer 18 holes of fun!

There are many more things to experience in Orlando, and this list barely scratches the surface. Orlando truly does have an attraction for all visitors, which is exactly why it is continually ranked as one of the favorite vacation destinations in the world.
